Petrol

Putting petrol in a diesel car is a common and simple motoring mistake.  The problem is based around the fact that the petrol refuelling nozzle is considerably smaller than the diesel entry point on the car.  Therefore if the motorist is distracted, maybe they have children in the back of the car, maybe they are busy thinking about their day at work, it is all too easy to inadvertently put the wrong fuel in your car.

Putting petrol in a diesel car can be an expensive mistake.  If you have put petrol in a diesel engine it is important that you do not start your engine, if you start the engine this will pump the fuel around the engine and could potentially cause further damage.  If you have already driven away before realising you have put the wrong fuel in, just pull over as soon as it is safe to and call us for roadside assistance.
